My second shout out of thanks goes to Valerie Fawley. She has been sitting to my right in this class (so far) this week. She has pleasantly answered my annoying and incessant questions - always with a smile. I hope someday I am able to reciprocate her generosity.

Now, to the educational topic required of this post. I used to teach at Rappahannock High School waaaay back when. At that time, we had a partnership with other schools and our students participated in the regional Vocational Technical Educational Center. Upon returning to Rappahannock three years ago, I was surprised to find our students no longer had the opportunity to attend a Voc Tech school. The reason given was budget issues. I do hope the County considers reinstating such a program. After watching this short video in class today on Success in the New Economy, I feel a bit more armed to address this with administrators (again).

This is my Voki. Although it is silly, I am quite honest in wanting to thank Tim Taylor for teaching EDCT 691 this week to our cohort through Eastern Mennonite University. In three days we have learned and practiced how to make an avatar, a podcast, digital stories using Photo Story and Meograph,  posters using Glogster and Infographic, comic strips using Make Beliefs Comix and Powtoon, and of coarse Blogs! In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, he is so very patient with the mix of skill levels in the class (mine in particular)!
